Caterpy HD is a cartoon adventure for small children. Wander through jungles, beaches and meadows, dodge hungry birds, collect flowers and fruit, and meet a whole cast of bugs along the way. No adverts, no purchases, no accounts.

What's in it

Dozens of illustrated levels

Several worlds of cartoon scenery: jungle, beach and meadow, with a cast of birds, monkeys and bugs, all of it straight from the 2012 release.

A storybook opening

The tale of why Caterpy sets off, told in picture panels before the first level. No reading required to play.

Easy Mode and Hard Mode

Younger players can take their time. Older ones can push for the score. Same levels, different amount of patience.

Mini games and collections

Side games, plus sets of flowers, fruit and bugs to unlock as you find them.

One touch controls

An on-screen D-pad and a jump button. That is the whole control scheme.

Plays offline, forever

No sign-in, no network, nothing to subscribe to. Install it once and it works on a plane, in a car, anywhere.

Restored, not remade

Jinnytty made Caterpy HD in 2012. It was on Android for a while, then quietly went away. The original project files survived on a hard drive, were handed over in 2021, and then sat untouched until August 2026.

Everything you play is her 2012 game. The same 591 images, the same music and sound, the same levels in the same order. What changed is underneath. The project was brought forward so that it builds for modern phones, and one broken control was fixed so the D-pad works again on a touchscreen. No art was redrawn. No level was altered.

Safe for children, by construction

Caterpy HD is aimed at young children, so it is worth being blunt about what it does not do:

  • No adverts of any kind.
  • No in-app purchases and no prices anywhere in the game.
  • No accounts, no sign-in, no chat, no other players.
  • No analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking SDKs.
  • No internet use at all. The game never sends anything anywhere.

Progress is saved on the phone and nowhere else. The full privacy policy says the same thing at greater length, and it is one short page.
